Our people bring our values to life

One of our core values is “empowering people”. We want our team and our clients to understand that they are the heart and soul of our business. Our team is always striving for excellence and we want our clients to see that!

Empowering people can be broken down into four key areas:

Embrace flexibility, technology and teamwork

During the pandemic, we moved our business from a town centre office environment to remote working. This happened pretty much overnight. We have continued to deliver our accountancy services to a very high standard. Not only this, we’ve delivered more work to more clients!

Taking these changes in their stride, our team has performed better than ever recently. This flexibility and ability to embrace online working really sets them apart.

Ownership of self-development and a learning mindset

You’d expect to find individuals in an accountancy business who are motivated to study. My Management Accountant is no different in this sense. We have students through to fully qualified members of AAT, CIMA, ACCA, and ICAEW at the core of our team. Studying towards professional qualifications is positively encouraged within our accountancy practice.

Studying doesn’t stop there though.

We actively encourage CPD through attendance at relevant conferences and webinars. This is particularly important with such a technology-focussed business. There are new softwares being developed all the time and we want to be at the forefront; providing our clients with cost-effective accountancy services wherever possible. We also offer a wider range of self-development sessions ranging from first aid training through to mindset and resilience.

Confidently ask for help

An accountant’s mind is naturally inquisitive. Our team are encouraged to obtain all of the relevant facts or information when working on a project. Whether that’s asking for clarification on a transaction, or wanting to dig into the processes within a business to really work out what’s happening. To be a good accountant means being comfortable in asking questions.

And as we tell our clients, we expect our team to make the effort to understand. There’s no such thing as a daft question!

We encourage an environment where questions are asked. To each other, to our clients, from our clients! We have such a wealth of accountancy knowledge across the team, just ask!

Whether it’s with a client or within our team, we have an approachable yet professional attitude. We will always respond to queries with knowledge, research and confidence until a resolution is found.

When we’re asked questions you can be assured that we’ll make sure we give you an answer based on our technical and commercial knowledge. If we don’t have the answer to hand, we will take time to research the topic before we come back to you.
